Milad Bagheri is a Toronto-based Iranian vocalist, and music producer whose work bridges the rich traditions of Persian and Kurdish music with contemporary sound worlds. Known for his powerful and expressive voice, Milad draws deeply from Persian poetry and folk melodies to create an evocative fusion of East and West, where timeless emotion meets modern form. A former lead singer of Iran’s acclaimed fusion band Dang Show, Milad was featured on their celebrated album Mad o Nay. In 2015, he made his operatic debut as Zaal in Roudabeh, produced by the Ayrik Opera Ensemble at Roudaki Hall in Tehran, marking the beginning of his journey into large-scale vocal performance. Since immigrating to Canada, Milad has co-founded the Chaam Project, a creative collective dedicated to reimagining Persian music through a modern, cross-cultural lens. Together with composer and pianist Homa Samiei, he has presented innovative performances at leading venues including TD Music Hall, Tirgan Festival, the Canadian Opera Company, Arraymusic, and the Meridian Arts Centre. In April 2024, Milad performed as a soloist with the Vancouver Iranian Choir and Ensemble (VanChoir) under Leslie Dala, in a concert honoring legendary composer Esfandiar Monfaredzadeh. His past collaborations include projects with Kabīn and Babak Amini (2019), highlighting the breadth of his artistic network and his long-standing commitment to collaboration. Milad’s debut album, Ham Khalvat (The Confidant), created in collaboration with Homa Samiei represents a culmination of his artistic vision: a poetic exploration of solitude, love, and transformation through voice, poetry, and cinematic orchestration. The Album Celebration Night took place in November 2025 in Toronto, followed by a Canadian tour beginning in February 2026. His body of work includes Dozdide (with poetry by Rumi), Toee Dar Yadam, Avaze Barg, Aseman Barf, Golabetoon, Mazh, Narasad, Avaze Azadi, Bi Aseman, Lalayi, Kojayi, and Booseh; each reflecting his deep emotional connection to cultural memory and contemporary sound. Through his performances and compositions, Milad Bagheri continues to connect cultures and bridge generations, creating music that is both rooted and revolutionary, where tradition breathes anew and the human voice becomes a vessel for unity and transformation.
